Materials of the hall cover considerable chronological and topical block. Photos, letters, diaries, documents, and personal belongings highlight the courage and sacrifice of the defenders of Ukraine. The defense period on the Ukrainian soil ended on 22 July 1942. The war scattered Ukrainian people all around fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Numerous exhibits tell about their feats of arms. The remnants of Il-2 aircraft, brought down in 1943 and found in 1985 during a research expedition by the employees of the museum, form a peculiar monument to pilots perished on different fronts of the war.








Topical relic composition dedicated to the family of Sagaidachny, the warriors of Moscow people's militia. In 1943, Yuriy Sagaidachny was granted the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for fording the Dnipro river
