Hall#5. Defensive Action On The Crimean Peninsula. Defense Of Sevastopol And Kerch
In the period from the fall 1941 to summer 1942, the Crimean peninsula became an arena for a fierce fighting. The exhibits of the hall tell about the 250-day Defense of Sevastopol, Kerch and about the Feodosia Landing Operation, show the courage of defenders of Adjimushkai quarries. The exposition presents munitions, guns and flags of the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, the interior of the cabin of the commandant of the Guard destroyer Soobrazitel'nyi, personal belongings of People's Commissar M. Kuznietsov, archive materials, personal documents of the higher command and ordinary defenders of the Crimean soil. The materials of the hall finalize the story of the initial period of the war of the USSR against Germany - the time when it was decided whether the country would stand, the time of the most severe hardships of fighting with Nazism.
